–Silentium to showcase applications for HVAC Blowers and Kitchen Range Hoods–

Rehovot, Israel – January 26, 2011 – Silentium will be exhibiting applications of its proprietary “Silence in a Chip” noise control solution at booth N3327 at the AHR Expo, on January 31 – February 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Silentium’s Active Noise Control (ANC) system is based on producing an “anti-noise” signal that destructively interferes with the original sound wave and cancels out the noise. This technological solution silences the noise at its source, allowing for more compact noise reduction systems that really work. At the expo, which will be hosting more than 45,000 HVACR industry professionals, Silentium will be featuring two demos of their technology for the HVACR market.

HVAC Blower Application

The HVAC blower that will be featured will demonstrate how the ANC technology is able to reduce noise by up to 90%. This is a compact solution that enables a commercial or residential ventilation system to run at maximum efficiency without noise concerns. Silentium ANC modules have advantages such as improved low frequency performance, elimination of back pressure concerns, and reduced power consumption as a result of decreased back pressure. Silentium’s ANC technology cancels out the noise at the source and therefore provides high quality noise control in a compact system, rather than installing complex and bulky ventilation silencers. The solution can be introduced also as an add-on product for new or after-market (retrofit) HVAC systems.

Kitchen Hood Application

Silentium will also be demonstrating an embedded ANC solution for range hoods in kitchens. The noise produced by the blower in range hoods is very obtrusive for the kitchen environment. By reducing the noise significantly, Silentium’s system allows for a more pleasant and productive cooking experience, whether it be in a home kitchen or a restaurant.

Silentium Development Kit

Silentium’s revolutionary S-Cube™ Development Kit will also be featured at the expo. The development kit allows engineers to design their own noise reduction solutions for their products.
